Project Host finds challenges in serving more people with smaller on-site team
In light of the COVID-19 crisis, Project Host, like other nonprofits, has seen a boost in people needing its services and has had to restructure from within to complete work without the assistance of volunteers.
While chief operating officer Tobin Simpson is working from home, a team of six working in the Project Host building has had to learn to operate without its usual team of 15 volunteers to feed more than 200 people daily — instead of the usual 100-150 — in its soup kitchen.
