Tell me a little about yourself. Where are you originally from? How long have you lived in Greenville?
I'm originally from California, but I went to university in Boston, MA, and I graduated in August. My family has lived in Greenville since 2020, and I've been living here full-time since September. I'm moving in mid-April to Dallas, Texas where I'll be working as an Investment Analyst.
How did you learn about Project Host and what drew you to volunteering in the Soup Kitchen?
I started coming to Project Host on Wednesdays with my mom, Sandee. I used to only come when I was home from university, but since September, I've come almost every Wednesday.
How did you learn about Project Host and what drew you to volunteering in the Soup Kitchen?
I started volunteering at Project Host because my mom enjoyed it so much. I love cooking, and it's such a fun and welcoming environment.
What motivates you to spend your time at Project Host?
It's a great opportunity to give back to the Greenville community, and I love that we can brighten people's day and ensure them a safe place to have a delicious meal.
What’s your favorite memory from volunteering?
There's always something exciting happening in the dining hall, but I like interacting with the regulars that we get each week. I also enjoy spending time with my mom.
How has volunteering at Project Host shaped/changed your view of Greenville?
I already thought Greenville was an incredible place, but Project Host is just another example of how kind and compassionate the people of Greenville are. It's wonderful to see how grateful most of the people we serve are and how many people want to donate their time to such a great cause.
