EMPTY BOWLS fUNDRAISER NIGHT WITH DONOVAN POTTERY

Community Dinners are a Project Host signature event to highlight the work of our chefs and culinary students and graduates. Dinners typically feature a three-course, plated meal and are designed to simulate an evening at a fine dining establishment for our students. At the same time, the dinners showcase the culinary talents of our chefs, often feature items from our onsite garden, and serve as a fundraiser for our culinary program.

The Empty Bowls initiative in Greenville, SC, is being revitalized by Donovan Pottery and Project Host, offering a unique convergence of local art and culinary talent to fight hunger. This event invites the community to engage in pottery-making workshops leading up to the dinner, where participants can craft bowls that will later serve as the vessels for a gourmet three-course meal prepared by Chef Mike Sibert, the 2024 Chef Ambassador from White Wine & Butter, and the Project Host culinary team. These bowls, emblematic of the fight against hunger, are kept by participants as a reminder of the community's collective effort.

Donovan Pottery's involvement brings a local artisan touch to the event, emphasizing the importance of community craftsmanship. High-profile artists and community members alike contribute to creating one-of-a-kind bowls, elevating the event's artistic value and fostering a deeper connection among participants. This collaboration not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the event but also strengthens the communal bond, uniting various sectors in a common cause.

Empty Bowls is a potter led fundraising event benefiting Project Host. Donovan Pottery is organizing and leading bowl making workshops leading up to the October community dinner to increase community support and awareness while also collecting handmade bowls for the event. Both a handcrafted bowl and a three course dinner are included in the ticket price for the evening.
